Everyone knows by now that the slipway carriage was considered beyond repair after it failed while the Maid was being slipped…

This story is told by Eddie Van der Stighelen whose father, Jan Van der Stighelen, was a Belgian national who served in the Belgian Merchant Navy from before WW2 until the war’s end.

You’ll meet and greet visitors from around the world, explain the heritage of the Maid of the Loch and providing general information about the area. You’d also be participating in the development of new activities for visitors. This is a sociable and friendly role fitting within an existing team.

You’ll help develop a range of digital experiences enabling people to interact with the heritage including through a new self-led mobile app. You’ll also get involved with digitising the heritage collection, audio / film editing and promoting the Maid of the Loch through social media.
